Batteries are typically installed on external walls but there are strict regulations regarding battery placement.
The battery will need a clearance of 600mm to each side and 900mm above, meaning that there can’t be a window or vent nearby that is connected to a habitable room.
The NSW Battery rebate is split in two stages. BESS1 and BESS2.
BESS1 is for the installation of a battery and you can get around $150/kWh.
BESS2 is the incentive for joining a Virtual Power Plant and you can claim a further figure depending on the plan. This incentive can be claimed twice but three years apart.
